Rev. Adam Burke
Adam Burke was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. His family worshipped at Christ Church Lutheran in Phoenix. He attended Valley Lutheran High School and graduated Valedictorian. He went to college at Concordia University, Irvine, California and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Theological Studies. He married Kayla in 2007 and they soon moved to St. Louis to attend Concordia Seminary. Before his vicarage year, he had the opportunity to study abroad at Cambridge University, England via Westfield House, a Lutheran study center. After their year in England, Adam went on vicarage to St. Paul Lutheran Church in McAllen, Texas. After their vicarage year, Adam and Kayla returned to St. Louis to complete his studies along with their new addition, Evangeline. In the winter of 2012, Adam received his first call to Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, Boulder, Colorado. There they welcomed Matthan and Elise. Adam served at Mt. Hope for six years before he accepted the call to Shepherd of the Hills.
Adam is an Eagle Scout and an avid outdoorsman. In Colorado, he climbed the 58 “Fourteeners”, all the mountains in Colorado over 14,000 feet. He enjoys all forms of outdoor adventure especially hiking, mountain biking, dual-sport motorcycle riding, and rock climbing. While indoors, he enjoys reading, learning useful skills, and cooking. More than anything he loves being a husband, father, and the opportunity to point to Jesus.
